Courtyard Asia Pacific Prototype
The challenge to overhaul a core brand with extensive scale and re-position the F&B as an true competitor to free-standing restaurants with a progressive vision on design and operations.
Substance is the F&B strategy for Courtyard branded hotels in Asia-Pacific. It breaks from the past of identity-free restaurants and introduces a new angle on F&B with a vision that shifts to nutritional and ethical concept restaurants.
With extensive but functional publications split over 4 books, we introduce a simplified approach to F&B development, freeing up design time to improve other elements of the design, resulting in an overall higher quality of F&B delivery.
The project was challenged by the status of Courtyard as a core brand for Marriott International, having not seen much renewal in its F&B in the decade before the introduction of the prototype. In Asia-Pacific, the brand previously did not employ the use of a prototype for the F&B space.
By focusing on the strength of the F&B concept and iconic, visual F&B elements, it was warmly welcomed and is changing the way the company develops F&B for Courtyard hotels.
