The St. Regis Bar Prototype
This highly detailed master design manual for St. Regis Bar design details the development requirements for world-class bars.
After a decade-long rise in craft mixology and finer drinking culture, it was necessary that the vision and design strategy for St. Regis bars be re-imagined. To guide new and renovating projects to a higher ambition, I created a highly detailed bar design manual that examined and guided luxury bar design. The process and underlying facility design are prototyped, and the narrative and aesthetic development is guided but left bespoke to answer to the opportunity of luxury hotel design.
From a gradually revealing arrival to tactile superior materials and acoustic quality - everything was looked at through a new lens on The St. Regis Bar experience. In great detail (in over 300 pages), the guide defines how each design discipline (bar, kitchen, lighting, AV, acoustics) contributes to designing a world-class bar.
